Dr. Rodolfo Torres, Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development, has been named as the Chancellor’s designee for campus oversight of the NAGPRA Program in compliance with the UC Policy on Native American Cultural Affiliation and Repatriation.

The Chancellor's Designee is responsible for oversight of UCR's efforts to repatriate ancestral remains and associated funerary objects in compliance with the UC NAGPRA policy, the federal NAGPRA law, CalNAGPRA and other applicable laws, and regulations at the campus level. The Chancellor's Designee is responsible for the approval/disapproval of Requests described in the UC systemwide NAGPRA Policy.
